Uma-Maheshwor Temple

Uma-Maheshwor Temple (Uma + Maheshwor) which comes after the famous hindu god SHIVA and PARBATI, was build in 1655 A.D. by Bishwonath Raurta.It is also known as Bhawani-Shankar Temple.

It is situated at 1414m  in Kwacho,ward no. 2 of Kirtipur.As it is on the top, we have to climb staircase to go to watch this temple closely.

We can also have very good scenario of the Kathmandu Valley from this temple.

The temple was four roofed but it was damaged during the earthquake in 1934 A.D. and was restored to three-storey only.In 2008 A.D.,it was again renovated.
